Modern Slavery Statement
Canary Wharf Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Canary Wharf Movers in respect of our financial year and sets out the actions we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not occur within our organisation or in any of our supply chains.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Canary Wharf Movers provides professional moving, relocation, and associated logistics services. Our operations rely on a range of suppliers, including providers of vehicles and fuel, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment maintenance, subcontracted labour for specialist services, and various professional and administrative services.
We recognise that certain sectors and geographic regions in which some of our suppliers operate may present a higher risk of labour exploitation. As a result, we focus our attention on those areas of our supply chain most exposed to potential modern slavery risks.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Canary Wharf Movers adopts a clear and strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. Any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour, child labour that does not comply with applicable laws, or human trafficking is wholly unacceptable. We expect all employees, contractors, and suppliers to share this commitment and to uphold the same high standards.
Our zero-tolerance stance is communicated through our internal policies, supplier terms and conditions, and during onboarding processes for new business partners. Where we identify non-compliance or credible concerns, we will take appropriate and proportionate action, which may include suspending or terminating relationships and reporting concerns to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We aim to work only with suppliers and contractors that demonstrate respect for human rights and fair working conditions. As part of our responsible sourcing practices, we are developing and implementing risk-based due diligence procedures to evaluate new and existing suppliers.
These procedures include requesting information about suppliers’ labour practices, reviewing relevant policies and certifications, and assessing their own supply chain oversight. Where a higher risk is identified, we may conduct more detailed reviews or request additional assurances and documentation.
We reserve the right to carry out audits or site visits, either directly or through competent third parties, to verify compliance with our standards. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with any such assessments and to implement corrective actions promptly where issues are identified.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
We are committed to raising awareness among our staff about modern slavery risks and appropriate responses. Employees in roles that involve procurement, supplier management, or supervision of frontline operations receive guidance so they can recognise potential indicators of exploitation and know how to report concerns.
Canary Wharf Movers encourages all workers, suppliers, and business partners to report any suspicion of modern slavery or unethical labour practices within our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or through other established reporting mechanisms within the business. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated where appropriate, without fear of detrimental treatment for those who raise concerns in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement. We regularly monitor developments in legislation, guidance, and best practice to strengthen our approach. We will continue to review our procurement processes, contractual terms, and internal policies to enhance our prevention and detection capabilities.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by the senior management of Canary Wharf Movers. The review will consider any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in our business operations or supply chains, and feedback from stakeholders. Where necessary, we will update our processes and this Statement to ensure that our efforts to combat modern slavery and human trafficking remain robust, effective, and aligned with our ethical values.
This Statement has been approved by the management of Canary Wharf Movers and reflects our ongoing commitment to maintaining responsible and transparent business practices.
